EQ and Effects

The use of an external filter, or audio plug-in, modifies the frequency response of all songs played. This can be useful to correct room resonance, change the signature of an audio system, or apply a specific effect. Audirvana can integrate AudioUnits under macOS, or VST3 under Windows, into the signal processing chain. Set the compatible filters of your choice and apply them to all songs played in Audirvana. These settings should be carefully used and are not for everyone. They require expertise to avoid creating greater nuisances than those you were trying to correct in the first place.

How to install a VST3 plugin and use it in Audirvana?

1) Download (1) and launch (2) the latest version of the plugin from the plug-in creator’s website. We take as an example the SonEQ from Sonimus, available free of charge by clicking here:

Soneq Download

When installing the plugin, simply click on next until you reach the step of selecting the plugin version and select the 64-bit VST3 version of the plugin (3). You can then click on next until the installation is complete.

You can enable the real-time control option to configure your plugin while listening (8 and 9).
